Carl Christian Reindorf
Carl Christian Reindorf (1834–1917) was a Ghanaian pastor and historian. He wrote The History of the Gold Coast and Ashanti in the Ga language. The work was later translated into English and published 1889 in Switzerland. He used written sources and oral tradition.
Reindorf was the son of Carl Hackenburg Reindorf, who was of half-Danish heritage and Anoa Ama, who was an ethnic Ga from Dutch Accra. Carl Hackenburg Reindorf was the son of John F. Reindorf, who was the Danish governor of Ghana. He received his early education in mission schools at Osa.[1]
